National Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps: The chapter presents an annual monetary award, a medal, and certificate to a local senior cadet at Venice High and North Port High Schools. He/she is recommended by the Commandant.

DAR Service for Veterans: Myakka annually sends personal items and hand-made gifts such as knitted caps, shawls, slippers, and lap robes to Bay Pines Veterans Hospital.

The Flag of the United States: A flag which has flown over the U.S. Capitol is given annually to either a community organization, a civic park or a school. A Braille flag was made for the Manasota Lighthouse for the Blind. Flag Code literature is placed in the public libraries.

Lineage Research and "How To" Genealogy Workshops: Chapter members and the Sarasota Genealogy Society co-sponsor workshops that are given at the Venice Public Library. Docents volunteer at the library to assist anyone needing help in researching and documenting their ancestors for DAR and SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) membership or just for personal interest.

Historical Preservation: Money and printed materials are donated to both the NSDAR Museum and to Venice Historical Society. Myakka members appeared at the 75th anniversary of the incorporation of the city of Venice and has supported the restoration of the Venice Railroad Depot.

Excellence in Community Service Award: An annual award intended to honor men and women of all ages for outstanding achievements in such areas as cultural, medical, educational, humanitarian, patriotic and citizenship work. A medal and certificate are given to these worthy people at a luncheon held in their honor.
